The Nature Conservancy takes the issue of global climate change seriously. The Conservancy’s Global Climate Change Initiative is currently working to develop innovative programs around the world. Climate change also affects biodiversity at the local level. The Washington Chapter has responded to this problem by embarking on two new projects to model the impact of climate change on Washington biodiversity, and to study the long term affects of climate change on the vegetation of the eastern slopes of the Cascade range.
